//Milan is growing on me…//
Yes, indeed!
I don’t know if it was the feeling of immediately wanting to escape Montreal when I went back home in April, or coming back to Milan during one of its most important week of the year, or even just the weather but Milan is growing on me and I’m actually liking living here.
The past two months have been a lot of fun! The design week was so amazing and exciting, I think it was one of the best week I’ve ever lived. It was then that I realized that during design week Milan is indeed the epicentre of design! Designers from all over the world travel to Milan to either exhibit their projects or come to discover new design! It was such a hectic week but SO much fun!
The city started to get really hot and summer is right around the corner. My bike became my only mean of transportation around the city: it is very nice to ride in Milan because it’s FLAT unlike Montreal! My biking skills has definitely become better and I can now say I am a proud biker. Once you get the taste of biking around this city, there’s no turning back! :P (In the latest news, my bike got stolen and I am now back to a very sad pedestrian and commuter :()
School has been molto tranquillo! I think after a first intense semester, we all took a step back to enjoy our time at school and our time with each other. Classes are ending soon before the summer break so I am trying to make the most out of my experience in school.
I have also hosted many friends over the last months, friends from Venice and friends from Montreal. It was nice to be able to show Milan to my friends from back home an share with them my Milanese experience. As for all the people I have met here, we have become very close friends: our friendships have grown and will become the part to remember from our time here in Milan.
I have to say I am happy that I am here and doing what I am doing with the people I am with :)

Aujourd’hui marque les 6 mois de mon expérience à Milan!!
Le mois de mars a passé plutôt vite et me voici en train de faire mes valises pour retourner à Montréal pour les vacances de Pâques. C’est un voyage imprévu, mais je suis très contente de retourner pour quelques jours de vacances chez moi!
Le temps a passé vite maintenant que je pense au début… quand il faisait une chaleur incroyable, que les cours venaient de commencer, que des nouvelles amitiés fleurissaient et que j’essayais de découvrir cette ville…. J’ai quand même passé au travers une session intense, des sorties un peu trop excessives, un Noel allemand, un rhume dégueulasse, un hiver retardé trop bizarre, des tensions à l’école, des nouvelles rencontres et de petits voyages et surtout le passage à 2012!!!!!
Maintenant que la charge de travail des cours a diminué de moitié, je dois avouer que mon temps est surtout dédié à faire des picnic au parc, du shopping, de la bicyclette, l’aperitivo et parfois étudier :P Je commence à mieux sentir la vie milanaise, une chose que j’avais de la difficulté depuis le début…
Le retour à Montréal sera un ‘cleansing’ pour pouvoir repartir avec plus d’énergie! Le retour à Milan sera une semaine de design bien remplie avec la visite d’une amie et tout ca accompagné d’un beau soleil brillant (en tout cas, je l’espère)!
